      Prereq: Geol 211, Math 125.

In this course we use the Lake Whatcom watershed as a model to examine
precipitation, evaporation, evapotranspiration, infiltration, and runoff processes.
Through weekly exercises, we explore data analysis techniques and
mathematical modeling in applications to these hydrologic processes in the
watershed. The exercises are Excel and writing intensive (1-credit writing proficiency).

      Topics:

      • Basic Hydrologic Concepts
      • Precipitation
      • Infiltration
      • Evaporation
      • Evapotranspiration
      • Streamflow
