Hi All - If you have the time this weekend please check out the Marysville Rock and Gem Club Show! This show helps them raise money for a scholarship! Many of our students have been recipients of their scholarship. Plus they just have really cool rocks to look at and buy :). See info below.

This is Rick Mueller from the Marysville Rock and Gem Club and student here at WWU. This year I am the host for our annual Rocktoberfest and would love for any and all students and professors to stop by and join in on this year's event. The members of the club will be showcasing their personal collections of rocks, minerals and fossils, many of which are found locally. Our members are very proud of their collections and are always more than willing to share what they know of the local geology. Many of our members will also be showcasing their talents of cutting and polishing various items as well as transforming rocks into fine pieces of jewelry. On top of our club members, there will be many vendors who sell rocks from all corners of the globe, which is a great chance for any students to see exotic specimens and learn from those who have traveled to the world's mines themselves.

The event is this coming weekend, Saturday the 7th and Sunday the 8th, from 10am-5pm at Totem Middle School 1605 7th St, Marysville, WA 98270.

If you could pass this information along to any and all who may be interested, myself and all of the Marysville Rock and Gem Club would be very appreciative and we would all love to see a great turnout from those who share our passion for geology!

If I can help provide any other information, please let me know and I look forward to speaking more with you in the future!

-Rick Mueller
