Subject: The Washington Geological Survey is hiring two mapping field assistants
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I have attached the hiring announcement for this coming year's geologic mapping assistants. Please distribute to people you think may be interested.
We will be hiring two (2) entry level geologists to assist with geologic mapping of the Rochester and Adna 7.5-minute quadrangles. The positions will be at the Scientific Technician 2 level ($2,800/mo with benefits) and are currently funded for 6 months with the possibility of longer tenure depending on budgetary constraints. Work will begin mid June through July and field work is typically concluded by the end of October with the remaining time spent in the office working on the maps and reports. These are great positions to introduce people to our agency and the work we do, dive deeply into the geology of southwest Washington, and get a ton of experience in the field and in the office.
Further information and qualifications are on the attached pdf.
Application materials are due no later than midnight on May 1st and should be emailed directly to me at alex.steely at dnr.wa.gov<mailto:alex.steely at dnr.wa.gov>.
Thanks!
Alex
