[Geolalumni] WWU Geology Alumni Celebration

Hello alumni, current students and fans of the Western Washington University Geology Department,

I'm writing to invite each and all of you to join us in celebrating all the wonderful people that have been associated with the Geology department over the years.  On Saturday, May 19 (one day after the 38th anniversary of the Mt. St. Helens eruption), we will hosting a party with you as the honored guest as a way of saying, "Thank you" for helping make WWU Geology the great place it is.  We will have demonstrations of new lab facilities, show and tell about the department (including parts from the Mars rover on display!) free beer and snacks, and all your old geology friends from college days.  We will also be celebrating prestigious alumnus Raymond "Bud" Burke and the retirements of long-time WWU geology professors Thor Hansen and Russ Burmester.
The geology event on Saturday is free, and it is part of the larger WWU Alumni Weekend event hosted by the Alumni Association.  The entire Alumni Weekend of activities is only $15 if you'd like to celebrate the rest of the campus as well. *         Mimosas, non-alcoholic beverages and continental breakfast with President Sabah Randhawa
