Subject: FW: WGS is hiring two new geologists

Colin, Doug, and Bernie,
Just in case this has not already spread among WWU grads, the WGS is hiring for some interesting projects-see two positions below and four positions attached.
(I am not personally involved in the hiring.)
Please distribute at will.
In addition, we expect to soon seek two field assistants for our coming Statemap 1:24,000-scale geologic mapping projects (both south of Olympia). Those looking for the field assistant jobs should keep watching our web postings at http://www.careers.wa.gov/ and https://www.dnr.wa.gov/employment/jobs.

Thanks,
Michael

Friends and Colleagues,

The hiring spree continues!

We are excited to open two project geologist positions to work on a tectonic framework study of the Doty fault and uplift history of the Willapa and Doty hills. One of these positions will be the lead scientist (NRS 3) and the other will be a project scientist (NRS 2). The announcement closes on March 31 and we'd like to bring the new folks on around the 1st of May; funding is provided through June 30, 2019, with the possibility of continued work if additional resources are secured. The successful candidates will need to be excellent field geologists with the ability to design and implement a research project and collaborate extensively with stakeholders.

The job announcements can be found on careers.wa.gov or directly below:

Project Geologist, Natural Resource Scientist 2 https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/washington/jobs/2012116/
Lead Geologist, Natural Resource Scientist 3 https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/washington/jobs/2012157/

Please forward this email to anyone whom you may think is interested and (or) to your alma mater Department Chairs for distribution.

Thanks!
Alex
