Hi all,


In case it's confusing, in the next two weeks I'll be giving two talks about the Kilauea eruption.  Tomorrow (Thursday) at 4:30 I'll be presenting as part of the Huxley Speaker Series in AW 204.  This presentation will be focused on the eruption itself, with a short discussion of the research cruise that I led this summer.


Next Tuesday (October 9) my students and I will be presenting in the Geology department's speaker series.  I'll give an overview of the eruption, and then students Kevin Lally and Lena Gibbs will discuss the cruise, the work they did, and the experience of doing oceanographic research.  That one will be in CF 114 at 4 pm.


If you can only attend one, please prioritize the geology department one (Tuesday) to support the students and hear about research opportunities in marine geophysics. But if you can't be there on Tuesday, feel free to come on Thursday. Or come to both if you're a glutton for volcanology.
