DGGS is seeking a motivated and highly organized geologist or earth scientist with advanced-level experience in environmental geology or a related field, extensive program and project management experience, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The position’s focus will be:

  *   Environmental Hazards
  *   Data management: NGGDPP, STATEMAP, etc.

Passionate about working directly with the public to study and mitigate naturally occurring environmental hazards to increase the health, safety, and welfare of your neighbors? If so, this may be a great job for you! You will manage and grow DGGS’ Environmental Hazards program, which currently consists of three project areas: radon outreach, naturally occurring asbestos, and groundwater quality. You will also develop and manage division-wide, grant-funded projects in the areas of data preservation and digital geologic map (GIS) data management, which require coordination and collaboration among the division’s sections.
