Hi All,
I am not sure how busy your quarter is starting off but if it has been anything like mine...you all must be pretty darn busy too!
A couple of reminders
- Please make sure that you get your transportation fees to me BEFORE you go on your field trips! If you do not get a check or cash to me before your field trip you may not be allowed to go. Please do this ASAP for ALL Courses that have a fee!!!
- Please try make an appointment with your faculty advisor at least once a quarter to go over your course plan or to just check in. There are still quite a few of you out there that have not either met with your faculty advisor or gone on the course planner to plan out your major for the next several years. For those who have not done this, please make an appointment soon! The course planner is rather important because it helps us plan out the following year schedule. Many of you think that you can get through your major without see any advisors at all and then you find out when it is too late that you wished you had talked to someone. I advise you to seek out information before it's too late and you have to stay one more quarter because you didn't realize you needed a GUR or more upper division courses. You can check your progress on Web4U...you can look at your Academic History, Degree Evaluation (very informative), Transfer Equivalency Report. If you do not know how to access these reports I would be happy to show you!
- IMPORTANT: Please pay attention to the University requirement of 60 upper division courses...this is any course 300 - 400 level that may be in your major or may not be in your major. This is important for all of you but those who are obtaining a BA, Geology need to really pay attention because you may end up not having enough upper division courses in your major to reach the 60 needed to graduate. There have been a few students lately that have fallen short and have had to extend their graduation by a quarter. Again, seek out advising from your faculty advisor or I can help you with academic questions such as this.
- Please make sure you clean-up after yourselves in the kitchen if you use it. This means cleaning out the sink, wiping down the counters, cleaning the microwave if your food blew up in it etc. Kitchen use for you is a privilege...please do not abuse it.
I think that's it...please let me know if I can be of any help! Have a great quarter...Work Hard, Play Hard...balance is GOOD!
