Hi Geostudents, and Geofaculty+Geostaff,
Possession and consumption of alcohol in university facilities to expressly forbidden. The management has discovered- most recently last night- that several of you have been in violation of this policy in our computer labs and other classrooms. This behavior places the department at risk, and cannot be tolerated. We have worked very hard to improve our facilities, and to make sure that you have access to them outside of regular business hours. If, by your irresponsible actions, you demonstrate that you cannot be trusted to utilize our facilities without direct supervision, we will restrict access to the building and/or classrooms.
On a related topic- you should also know and abide by department policy regarding food and drink of any kind in the computer labs. Make sure all food and beverages are consumed outside of the labs. You can also do more- why not drop your containers in the appropriate recycle bins/barrels in the hallway, rather than have them pile up in a big mess?
