[Geoldept] FW: Field Assistant

Hi everyone!



       My name is Kevin Quillan, and in case we have not meet, I am a first year graduate student working under Liz Schermer. I am in need of a field assistant to help me with my time  spent on Orcas Island this summer. I will be using a boat to get around the island to look at some really interesting and complicated structures of the San Juan Thrust System, while making detailed outcrop maps and collecting samples. Anyone who has interest in structural geology and the field work it entails should be look into this. There will be compensation in the form of free food/camping/and ferry ride (unfortunately there is not enough money to pay an hourly wage, but we will be on an island in the summer so no worries!). The tentative plan is that I will be going out in four different time slots, and anyone is free to join me for the entirety of all or any of the following:



1) June 23 - June 27

2) July 7 - July 14

3) July 20 - July 28

4) July 31 - August 4
