This is just a reminder about today's scholarship writing workshop. There are quite few internal and external scholarship opportunities that you can take advantage of with a honed personal statement.

Hi all,


There will be a scholarship writing workshop this Thursday in ES 223 at 4:00 pm. Rachel Sarkar is an instructor from the College of Humanities at Western and will be coming in to discuss techniques for crafting an effective scholarship letter. This is a great opportunity to get some technical writing tips so be sure to take advantage of this by coming on Thursday and by bringing questions  that might help you with any struggles you have when writing these types of letters. Homemade treats will also be provided.
Also, there is an AEG section meeting coming up November 19 at the La Quinta Inn in Tacoma.  Marc Fish will be presenting on a rock fall project along the North Cascades Highway. If you would like to attend this, please RSVP by 5:00 pm Monday November 16 by emailing Sevin Bilir at secretary at aegwashington.org<mailto:secretary at aegwashington.org>
The cost is $10 for students. Note that no shows will be billed, so let her know in advance if you need to cancel. Also, be sure to email me if you are interested in attending so I can make driving arrangements accordingly.
