Anyone interested in visiting a 4th grade classroom to talk about anything geological in Washington State?
Or coordinating a field trip in our department around the exhibits?
See below.
If you are interested, let me know and I’ll connect you to Ms. Roper.

Hi Sue-
Thanks for the quick reply. I’m a 4th grade teacher and one of our main units of study is Washington State geography. I was hoping that my class could learn about the history of the land – earthquakes, volcanoes, glaciation, erosion through rivers, etc. I want them to have an understanding of what makes Washington a unique place.
A field trip to WWU sounds great. What is there for kids to do and see? The more hands-on the better! If you have the time and inclination, I would be open to you (or other geology folks) coming in to the classroom to do some teaching about Washington geology or even coordinating a field experience somewhere close by.
I’m really trying to get these kids engaged with the amazing place in which we live. Their previous unit of study was on Oceans, and we end the year by going to Lime Kiln State Park on San Juan Island.
Thanks for working with me!
