The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)<http://osixy2.com/p/?_3641-8376/21K9QDDC8-5/_1._ct&_olinkid_=8c1053cb-11ad-4dbb-8252-ca210dac5f31> program at the American Museum of Natural History<http://osixy2.com/p/?_3641-8376/21K9QDDC8-6/_2._ct&_olinkid_=8a35b13f-618b-4d25-98e7-d9597413f31f> in New York City is a chance to make a difference. This teaching fellowship combines coursework, mentoring, and real-world experience to prepare Earth and Space science graduates for a rewarding career as middle and high school teachers.
With a sole focus on preparing new Earth science teachers, the MAT program is a full-time, 15-month Master's program<http://osixy2.com/p/?_3641-8376/21K9QDDC8-7/_3._ct&_olinkid_=4004479d-d3d5-4d76-a8cb-ecd700ddce2a> that takes place at the museum and in urban partner schools<http://osixy2.com/p/?_3641-8376/21K9QDDC8-8/_4._ct&_olinkid_=a36101f5-3cb6-40f5-ada5-a3cc855aab72>. We seek a student body with diverse life and career experience, and the application is open to all candidates meeting the eligibility requirements<http://osixy2.com/p/?_3641-8376/21K9QDDC8-9/_5._ct&_olinkid_=5c8f5872-5cec-4f1d-9314-7e9afb2b4143>. All degree candidates will receive free tuition and books and a $30,000 living stipend<http://osixy2.com/p/?_3641-8376/21K9QDDC8-10/_6._ct&_olinkid_=c057d601-37ea-4a5a-abff-27e49695addd>. In return, candidates commit to teaching in a high-need school in New York State for four years.
We are currently accepting applicants for the class that will matriculate in June 2016. The application deadline is Monday, February 15th.
