[Geoldept] Rock Cutting Lab

Students,

Today when I went into the rock cutting lab I was very disappointed. The trim saw was covered in rock debris and the blue lap wheel was left wet and had rusted very badly. Also, the box of gloves was gone. All of these things are unacceptable, and I don't know who the culprit is because they did not sign in. Me and two mineralogy students did thin section training and finished up at about 5:30 last night - so it happened sometime after that.

Finding a mess I have come to expect, sadly, but it is still unacceptable. Let's not make me sad. I don't like being sad! But what really upsets me are the missing gloves. The missing gloves is very disappointing because you are stealing from your classmates and fellow geologists. It's your lab fee dollars that support the space and buys things like gloves, so please be considerate. If you took the gloves because you needed them elsewhere, this is not the proper way to go about getting gloves. If gloves are out in a particular area, that means they are needed in that area and must stay in that area. If there is a place you are working and need gloves, come find me and I can get you supplied.

If I catch you leaving a mess, or working without signing in, this may result in suspension and/or revocation of your privilege to work in the lab.

Thanks,

Benjamin Paulson
