Hi All-
The annual Community Internship and Volunteer Fair is coming up...mark your calendars to attend this event. There is also a helpful workshop through the Career Center to help you work on those resumes and cover letters. I encourage all of you to be prepared with a cover letter and resume for any job that you might be seeking now or in the future.
Community Internship & Volunteer Fair
Thursday, October 27th 12:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Viking Union Multipurpose Room
As we all know, this year will continue to be challenging for those of us who advise students about their career plans. In this competitive job market, please remind students that internships are a great way to gain experience and get a foot in the door.
Over 50 organizations will be at the event seeking students of all majors for professional, meaningful internships in nonprofits, community services, the environment, government, and the arts. There are a wide variety of internships which match the interests of almost every major at WWU.
To make the most of the Community Internship and Volunteer Fair, students are encouraged to:
* Research the organizations and internship listings in advance through Viking CareerLink available on our website at www.wwu.edu/careers<http://www.wwu.edu/careers>
* Have their resumes reviewed by calling 650-3240 to make an appointment or attend the Drop in Resume Check October 19th from 3-5pm in Old Main 280.
If you or anyone you know needs more information feel free to refer them to the Career Services Center in Old Main 280, 360-650-3240.
Thank you for your help in getting the word out to your students.
Sincerely,
Sandy Brown
