Hi All-
Want a really great experience? Please consider applying for these positions. If you want more information before applying, Kris Alvarez, WWU Geology Alumnus, would be very happy to speak with any of you at length about the positions and the working environment. This sounds like another great PAYING opportunity. She also indicated that they have hired students that are have freshman, sophomores or junior status. Please do not hesitate to apply or talk to Kris if this is something of interest to you.
Greetings,
Kinross's Round Mountain mine in Round Mountain, NV is currently hiring for summer intern positions in geology, survey and environmental. It is a great opportunity to see some new geology, and experience the modern industrial side of geology. Western Washington has a strong reputation for good field oriented geologists, and I am hoping to see some of your students apply.
I am specifically involved in finding geology students, but we do have internships in surveying and in environmental. Both of those are also useful ways to gain experience that can further students in their geological careers.
The internships pay very well and come with subsidized housing (the rents are nominal). Central Nevada has some amazing outdoor activities for days off. I personally love it down here and anyone who is interested can call if they have questions about these jobs, and I can get them in touch with other interns who have worked here, too.
The time window to apply is really short, so I encourage folks to apply fast. Apply online, but be sure to send me a resume so I can hand carry it to our HR department and the Chief Geologist. The job description for geology is below my signature, but all internships can be accessed at:
