Hi All-
I can't believe it almost the end of the third full week of Fall Quarter! Time sure flies. Please read this msg ALL THE WAY THROUGH.
If you plan on graduating Fall Quarter the deadline has passed and you better come in to see me ASAP your hard deadline is November 13, 2017. If you plan on graduating Winter Qtr you have missed the deadline and will have to pay the late fee and should be completed ASAP. If you plan on graduating Spring Qtr the deadline without a late fee is December 8, 2017. Please come in and pick up a Senior Evaluation Form in the office.

An important item: When responding or conferring with faculty or staff you will need to use your OFFICAL WWU E-MAIL.
Several To-Do Reminder items:
1. Please complete your safety training. It is required for all Faculty, Staff & Students. You should have received an invite on Canvas.
2. Please REMEMBER to LOCK ALL doors to the computer lab as well as the other rooms that require being locked even if you don't think you are the last one out of the room. Please lock and close the door so that you can continue using these spaces after-hours. If you need after-hours access please contact me. The Computer Lab ES 230, Paleo Lab ES 227, Mineralogy Lab ES 223, ES 213, and ES 218 should all remain locked if no one is in them. If you see one of the rooms open and nobody in it please shut and make sure the door is locked. Thank you!
3. KITCHEN ISSUES: Please keep the kitchen tidy...Wipe down counters, sink, and clean-up any spilled coffee, food etc. Also please return all borrowed items such as utensils, coffee cups, plates, bowls if you use them. These are to borrow not to keep!
4. Please keep the Bressler room tidy if you use that room for studying - push in chairs, clean off whiteboard/chalk board, wipe down table if you had a meal in there or if you have a lot of eraser leavings left on the table. Faculty and staff use this room for meetings and we want it kept tidy.
5. If you need to check out a Brunton or other equipment - please contact Ben.
Don't forget to keep checking the Scholarship/Internship web page https://cse.wwu.edu/geology/undergraduate-scholarshipsinternships Reduce your debt and apply :).
I have attached the Skagit Rock and Gem Club application which is Due November 1, 2017.
AWG Brunton Award - http://awg.org/images/awards/AWG%20Brunton%20Award%20pdf.pdf due November 15, Women Only
NOTE: You should give faculty at least two week's notice when you request a Letter of Recommendation for a scholarship. If you plan on applying to Graduate School you should give faculty at least a three week's notice, if not more, for a Grad School Recommendation Letter.
I think that is about it and I hope that you all have a fun and successful quarter! If you actually read through this entire e-mail and you are the first to e-mail me back with the hidden geology related word (and it is not the word mineralogy), within the e-mail, I will buy you a grande size drink of your choice. Those of you who have won in the past are not qualified...sorry. Odds in winning are 154 to 1, better than the lottery...ha, ha.
Cheers,
Theresa Tripp
