[Geoldept] AEG April Dinner Meeting

Howdy geo-folk,

The monthly AEG dinner meeting is coming up. The event will be held Thursday April 19 in Tacoma at the La Quinta Inn from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm.  This is a great networking opportunity especially for those looking to go into engineering/environmental-leaning geology careers. There will be a buffet dinner as well as a presentation by Dr. John Wakabayashi on seismic hazard assessment as it relates to strike-slip faults.

If you are interested in going, you need to purchase tickets by 3:00 pm on Friday April 13th. However, I'd recommend signing up ASAP. Tickets are limited and the last joint chapter meeting sold out, so get in there! The student price for a dinner ticket is $15.

I've attached the official announcement with all the details. The attachment states that ticket registration ends on Monday April 16th, but the site itself says April 13th so I'd go with the latter...

I would like to take a van down for Western students. If you are interested in taking the van, I need to know by Friday April 13th. Just email me and let me know.  Departure time to be determined but it will be early to make it to Tacoma on time with any certainty. We will also be arriving back in Bellingham late at night. Keep both of these in mind before registering.
