My name is Lia Cook and I am the Community Engagement Coordinator in the Womxn’s Identity Resource Center (WIRC) and biochemistry student! This year I’m in charge of the WIRC sponsored program Memoirs, a program for underrepresented students. Memoirs is a 3-quarter-long program for underrepresented students to explore their gender and other intersecting identities through discussion and art.  No STEM students have yet to participate in the program, and I want to reach out and encourage you to participate. Below is more information regarding the program and information sessions dates.

Memoirs—A Community Building Program for Underrepresented Students
Memoirs is a community building program focused on underrepresented and marginalized students. Within this program students discuss gender, race, and other identities and their intersectionality. Memoirs works to facilitate a space to be vulnerable and have important conversations with like-minded folks. From these discussions and community building sessions, student create artworks reflecting their identities and ideas they want to share. In the spring students will have the opportunity to showcase their art in the annual Memoirs art exhibit and reception in B Gallery. Here the participants speak about the program, art, and what they want to convey with their works. Currently, there are four information sessions planned for November. At these sessions students can learn more about the Memoirs program and sign up for the event. The information sessions are schedule as follows:
