[Geoldept] ASBOG Exam

Dear students and alumni:

Washington State and 31 other states require licensing to practice as a professional geologist.   The first step toward licensure is passing the ASBOG Fundamentals of Geology Exam.  The next Fundamentals of Geology Exam in Washington is March 20, 2020. The application deadline<https://www.dol.wa.gov/business/geologist/geoexams.html> for the exam is December 31, 2019.

Please take the exam if you meet the educational requirements (see the link below).  Preparing for the exam will be so much easier while you are still on campus because the subject matter will be fresh and we have study guides (REG Review) available in the department.

As it stands now, WWU is the leader in the country for students taking the Fundamentals Exam, so please help sustain our outstanding success.

Application procedures can be found in the link below. Please read them carefully. If you are taking a course this fall that is part of the educational requirement, wait until your grades have been recorded before having the registrar mail a transcript to the Geologist Licensing Board.
