STUDENTS! Are you interested in geophysics? Does the thought of doing seismology research float your boat? Are you looking for a paid internship working with geophysical data next summer?

Applications for the 2020 Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS) Internship are now open at https://www.iris.edu/hq/internship/interns. This is one of the most exciting internships in geophysics, with opportunities across the country. Some IRIS interns do lots of fieldwork, others geek out on programming, but pretty much all of the opportunities are engaging, exciting, and educational.

To be eligible you do NOT have to have studied seismology, but you need to have had a year's worth of math and physics. Further, you must be planning to graduate *after* summer 2020 (so you have to return for at least one quarter in the 2020-2021 school year). Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

If you're interested and have questions, give me a holler. The application deadline is Feb. 1.

Aloha,
Jackiea
