Antarctic volcano seismology, anyone? Here's a pretty awesome opportunity for students interested in doing graduate work in seismology.
(and if you are interested in this opportunity, make sure you take GEOL 463/563, Introduction to Seismology, next quarter).

Subject: [IRIS][jobs] Ph.D. Student Opportunity in Antarctic Volcano Seismology at Colorado State University
The Department of Geosciences at Colorado State University is seeking a Ph.D. student in NSF-supported volcano seismology focusing on magmatic and eruptive activity at Mount Erebus volcano, Antarctica.
The student will play an integrated role in advanced seismic structural and source studies on the volcano in association with colleagues at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks and the University of Texas, El Paso.
Candidates should have a solid background in seismology and facility with managing seismological data, coupled with a strong interest in multidisciplinary volcano geophysics.
This opportunity is available in January 2020, but may start as late as August 2020.
Interested students should contact principal investigator Rick Aster (rick.aster at colostate.edu<mailto:rick.aster at colostate.edu>) for further information.
General information for prospective Graduate students in the Department of Geosciences is available at: https://warnercnr.colostate.edu/geosciences/graduate-study/prospective-students-2/<https://nam03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwarnercnr.colostate.edu%2Fgeosciences%2Fgraduate-study%2Fprospective-students-2%2F&data=02%7C01%7Ccaplanj%40wwu.edu%7C06a2a3800ccc4aa3039308d742ce630f%7Cdc46140ce26f43efb0ae00f257f478ff%7C0%7C0%7C637051326510383311&sdata=WXV1dJpQTj%2FcU%2Bi1CDlYHCCh2h7UlzfPjZQtbSA4ErQ%3D&reserved=0>
