Hi everyone, the Geology Department’s URGE pod will host 3 GLTs over the coming months, aimed at updating the department on our conversations, findings, and recommendations. Please join us this Friday at 12pm for the department’s second URGE pod update.

The conversations that started last summer about racism, justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion should only serve as a starting point for creating an actively anti-racist environment in our department.

URGE (Unlearning Racism in the Geosciences) is a four-month NSF-supported program aimed at facilitating anti-racism work in geoscience departments around the country. The WWU URGE “pod” consists of 14 members: undergraduates, graduates, staff, and faculty.
