[Geoldept] FW: Open Position for Entry Level Staff Geologist

Hello,

Quality Geo NW is seeking recent graduates with either a BS or MS in geology, who meet the course requirements to take the ASBOG Fundamentals test for their Geologist in Training certification (GIT) at some point. No experience required, and no GIT certification required to apply. We will be thoroughly training whoever is selected, with the intention of getting them through the state process for their License in Geology (LG) and Engineering Geology (LEG). The position is located in our Lacey office and would begin immediately in the new year.

Candidates must be outgoing and able to offer excellent customer service, as well as capable of working on a two person team or alone. Must be punctual and able to manage time efficiently, completing report tasks on time. Employees are required to track and log their progress on a daily timesheet. Also requires a valid driver's license and a fair driving record.

Duties to perform include: help during field work (in the rain a lot), including deep soil borings, excavated test pits, soil sampling, slope profile measurements, and hand operated soil testing (lifting 35lbs over your head). Additionally, will be helping with office work, including project coordination, administrative duties, geotechnical analysis, and goetechnical report writing.
