 Transportation Services has suspended the Student Late Night Shuttle Service since last March in response to the COVID-19 situation. Anticipating a return to campus in the fall of 21, we are preparing to resurrect a version of the program. After reviewing programs offered by other institutions across the nation and the responses from our recent RFI, we recognize there are many opportunities to provide better late night shuttle service to students. Transportation Services is hosting a virtual drop-in open house for students to voice their ideas, recommendations, and concerns regarding the program.



Here are the specifics about the open house.



What: Drop-In Online Open House for the Student Late Night Shuttle Service

Date: Wednesday, January 27, 2021

Time: 1pm - 5pm

Who: All WWU students

Where: Zoom - see meeting invitation below



The purpose of the open house is for students to provide input into the Student Late Night Shuttle Program<https://transportation.wwu.edu/student-late-night-shuttle>. Drop in anytime between 1pm and 5pm to ask questions about the different possibilities for the shuttle service and to comment on the service you would like to have at WWU.



There are three ways to provide this service: 1. As a fixed route shuttle service, 2. As an on demand service like a taxi/Uber/Lyft, or 3. As a hybrid fixed route and on demand service.



Pre-pandemic, two shuttles ran each night on a fixed route<https://transportation.wwu.edu/files/2019-11/Shuttle%20Postesr%202018_22x22%20Fairhaven%20stop.pdf> after WTA buses had stopped running (Mon-Sat, 11pm - 3am and Sunday 11pm - 2am).



The Student Late Night Shuttle Service is available to all students who live in Bellingham during the academic year. It is paid for by students who are registered for 6 or more credits as part of the Alternative Transportation Fee.
