Hi all. Here is information about another excellent field camp opportunity, plus some wise words of advice from a current student who has navigated the situation. Thanks to Jonah Bettger for the information!

Here's a cost breakdown<https://nam03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fiugfs.indiana.edu%2Fcosts-and-funding%2FX429-costs-and-funding.html&data=04%7C01%7Cschermer%40wwu.edu%7Cab22ab06ce2f4fb8058c08d8c2f7f997%7Cdc46140ce26f43efb0ae00f257f478ff%7C0%7C0%7C637473717600628153%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=S6fJqcBGWnmEqQaHHOKjRhRibyrMZXMJduhgucd%2F68A%3D&reserved=0> for that program. Their requirements are an unofficial transcript, a letter of recommendation, and a small online form/application. It is free to apply.

I previously talked to Bernie about meeting credits, and he informed me that semester-to-quarter credits are 1.5 times the semester credits. So, a 6-credit program will allot 9 credits for Western. This against our 12-credit field camp at Western will still fulfill field camp requirements, but students need to confirm that 3-credit difference will be covered in their 60 upper-division requirement.

I also work in the Office of Admissions on campus, so transferring credit and timelines are also good points to make known for students. Students graduating in summer after field camp who wish to transfer credit from a different university like Arizona or Indiana need to be in contact with their advisor and Registrar's. Their advisor may need to confirm with Registrar's that they will be fulfilling graduation requirements so that they may apply for graduation. Registrar's may still alert the student that they are not meeting requirements, but just stay in contact as say that you're completing requirements elsewhere. They tend to get a bit anxious, so communicating with that office is really important. Student's need to send an official transcript as soon as that program is complete from the other university to Western so that Registrar's can give credit and let the student graduate.

That's all the info I have, and the info with Registrar's is pretty fluid. If you have any questions or need me to clarify anything, I'm more than happy to help!
