Linguistics Summer Courses
Please let students know about these courses (see attached flyer).
Note: The "Structure of English" class was offered in the English Department as English 436 for years, but now that we have a Linguistics Department, we've moved the course over as Linguistics 402. No prerequisites required, and non-majors welcome.

Communication Sciences & Disorders Summer Courses
Dear Colleagues,
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders would like you to know about our summer classes. We have one upper-division course, and two courses which fulfill SSC GURs. Please share with your students! Flyers are attached.
CSD 210 Do you have an interest in knowing more about how humans receive, process, and understand incoming verbal and written information? Are you curious about disorders of language, speech, and reading and what we know about the brain's processing of oral, written, and signed language? Have you ever considered a career supporting others in developing and maintaining their communication? Check out CSD 210 Communication and the Mind! Communication and the Mind is a GUR that explores typical and atypical language comprehension and use, and underlying cognitive processes via short readings, lectures, videos, and demonstration activities. The course consists of pre-recorded lectures of the professor, demonstration games and activities, a few exams, and optional online engagement via Canvas. This course is straightforward and easy to navigate. Dr. Kimberly Peters is enthusiastic, readily available, and invested in your learning should you have any concerns or just want to check in and chat.
Thank you,
