Hi everybody!
I wanted to you let all know that I am offering an Advanced Paleobiology course this fall (GEOL 497Q/597Q). The course will focus on mass extinction dynamics and will include a seminar-style discussion portion and a lab portion that highlights quantitative methods in paleobiology.
In this class, we will be using the programming language R to study mass extinction events using the data from the Paleobiology Database. You do NOT need any previous experience programming in R or any other language to enroll in this course.
This is a 4-credit class and meets face-to-face T/R from 11:00 - 12:50. It has one prerequisite: GEOL 316 Paleontology.
I hope you will consider taking this class! I think it will be a lot of fun, and I'm happy to answer questions if you have them.
Best,
Robyn
