Dear all,

The JOIDES Resolution is seeking to fill a vacancy for the thin section technician position, sailing IODP Expedition 390<http://iodp.tamu.edu/scienceops/expeditions/south_atlantic_transect.html>, April 1-June 8, 2022. The individual will prepare thin sections and assist with catwalk core receiving duties. The position is temporary, with the potential to apply for a permanent position following the expedition. As such, it’s a great fit for anyone from a graduate student looking for an unique, one-off experience, to someone interested in the possibility of longer term employment. Experience in prepping thin sections is needed.

The official job ad is below. Please apply through Workday or contact Gary Acton or Brad Julson (emails below) for more information about the position.

I’m also available (estes at iodp.tamu.edu<mailto:estes at iodp.tamu.edu>) to answer additional questions about the expedition or working for the JRSO – I will be the expedition project manager for X390.

Please be in touch if you or anyone you know of might be interested!

Best,
Dr. Emily R. Estes (she/her)
