Subject: [Nagt-geoed] Opportunities for Graduate Students interested in GER

Dear GER Community,

It is our hope to make use of the e-mail listserve more often and the GER Division will be sending out seasonal newsletters rather than monthly beginning this year. Time-sensitive information can be sent to me and I am happy to send it out to our Division.

Check out these opportunities and please forward to any students you know interested in GER graduate programs.

Funded MSc and PhD Opportunities in DBER at University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada

DEADLINE: 15 January 2022

Students with an interest in geoscience education research, or STEM education research more broadly, are invited to apply for the MSc and PhD in Geological Sciences degree programs in the Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences Department<https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.eoas.ubc.ca%2F&data=04%7C01%7Cdhclark%40wwu.edu%7Ce7a28fef3bf04335f96a08d9d22ac60b%7Cdc46140ce26f43efb0ae00f257f478ff%7C0%7C0%7C637771903430508555%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=qPRlT49kU2TDHpRFcxtrC9LSidzGDHp2bw4eUH%2BIse8%3D&reserved=0> at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.

Funded geoscience education research GRA/GAA positions are available (including tuition waiver for doctoral students). GRA/GAA positions focus on studying field-based experiential learning and community partnership models for incorporating Indigenous perspectives into geoscience learning. Additional opportunities to study learning geoscience in informal spaces (e.g., Museums, Science Centers) is also possible.

For any questions regarding the research group, funded projects or degree programs, prospective students can (and are encouraged to) contact Laura Lukes, PhD (llukes at eoas.ubc.ca<mailto:llukes at eoas.ubc.ca>). See the PhD Application page<https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.grad.ubc.ca%2Fprospective-students%2Fgraduate-degree-programs%2Fphd-geological-sciences&data=04%7C01%7Cdhclark%40wwu.edu%7Ce7a28fef3bf04335f96a08d9d22ac60b%7Cdc46140ce26f43efb0ae00f257f478ff%7C0%7C0%7C637771903430508555%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=iQio0JEpil8ep9gZneJJZePY1TV%2BgiPpnaTjEepsFlM%3D&reserved=0> and the MSc page<https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.grad.ubc.ca%2Fprospective-students%2Fgraduate-degree-programs%2Fmaster-of-science-geological-sciences&data=04%7C01%7Cdhclark%40wwu.edu%7Ce7a28fef3bf04335f96a08d9d22ac60b%7Cdc46140ce26f43efb0ae00f257f478ff%7C0%7C0%7C637771903430508555%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=IEUTrWBIAFMK4Qxlhvo7NOJWSDz6WMeLe81kVgvzlQY%3D&reserved=0> for more details on how to apply.
