Now through April 14, students can apply to run for a student government position. We pay $19/hr, work with students to accommodate classes and other commitments and offer a hybrid work environment. Senators typically work 10hrs a week sitting on important AS and University committees, holding office hours, attending the bi-weekly Senate meeting and working towards completing any campaign promises. Senators represent each college and lobby for the resources and support students need within that college. The Executive Board members represent all students and work closer to 19hrs a week. Each executive board member has an area of specialty they focus on throughout the year: President, Senate President, Activities, Diversity, Governmental Affairs, Student Services, and Sustainability. Nearly 2/3 of the positions remain unfilled, including one of the Senate seats representing the College of Science and Engineering. Without a Senator,  students within the college will have a harder time having their concerns heard. The college and its students will also miss out on having a say on AS resolutions passed by the Senate or Executive Board.
