Hello Friends,

I just had a quick errand to the north end of campus, and while on my trek to and fro, I was inundated with vape exhale and cigarette smoke, and nearly run over by a bike. I figured this is a good opportunity to reiterate to all of you a couple of university policies.

First, we are a smoke and vape free campus. All campus property, this includes in your vehicle in a university parking lot. Please plan accordingly, and if needed, I would encourage folks who use nicotine to look into cessation help. There are a lot of resource available. Second, the bike map is attached, please note that in front of Carver and all of Red Square are dismount zones between 9am and 4pm. Most areas within campus are Shared zones, where you speed should be limited to 3mph (walking speed) around pedestrians, and 7mph (jogging speed) if no pedestrians are nearby. You should use a bell to alert those around and keep a good distance, where able.
