Students and alums: A great fully-funded PhD project studying the glacial record of someplace near-and-dear to my heart: the Sierra Nevada.  Better yet, you’d have the opportunity to correct all the mistakes I made in my own Ph.D. study!  Plus you’d get to live in Aberdeen, Scotland; I hear the weather is pretty similar to Bham, so you’d feel right at home while working on your Scottish brogue.

I would like to draw your attention to a PhD opportunity on Unravelling glacier and climate history of the Californian Sierra Nevada during the last deglaciation<https://www.quadrat.ac.uk/projects/unravelling-glacier-and-climate-history-of-the-californian-sierra-nevada-during-the-last-deglaciation-case/> which I believe is of relevance to this mailing list.

The project is currently being advertised as part of the QUADRAT Doctoral Training Partnership<https://www.quadrat.ac.uk/> between the University of Aberdeen and Queen’s Belfast, UK. Application is open to international students, with a deadline of Wednesday 17th January 2024. Applicants will go through a competitive internal selection process.
