In this position, you can work year-round in steep and brushy field, but also get to the beach. You will get a lot of experience in writing issue based NEPA with a competent team. The geologist gets involved is most District projects and there also may be time allowed for assisting other field offices.



(70% of time) Primary duties are avoiding landslides is support of timber sales and road building and pre/post soil monitoring for timber sales.
(30% of time) Leading NEPA teams and administering locatable or salable plans and notices. Preparing Mineral Reports. Budget lead for minerals and accounting for widgets. The biggest pending minerals project is a competitive sale for a mineral materials contract.



Coos Bay, Oregon is the largest coastal town in Oregon. It has beautiful sand dunes, forests, natural lakes, and beaches. The weather is ‘mild’ if you don’t mind winter rain and a strong summer breeze. These towns are within commutable distance to the office in North Bend.
