Hi students,

If anyone has time to spare and tuition/airfare to burn, there are a few seats available in the International Volcanology Field School this summer—a two-week (june 4-17) field experience in one of the most spectacular environments on the planet, Katmai National Park. There are four spots still available, so if you're interested, check it out here: https://www.uaf.edu/geosciences/academics/international-volcanology/index.php and apply now!

Give a holler if you have questions about this, or better yet, reach out to the course leader, Pavel Izbekov at peizbekov at alaska.edu.

aloha,
Jackie

You don't often get email from peizbekov at alaska.edu. Learn why this is important<https://aka.ms/LearnAboutSenderIdentification>
Dear Colleagues,

We have 4 vacancies remaining for our annual field trip to Katmai, Alaska during June 4-17, 2023. This is a great opportunity to explore the Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes, the site of the largest explosive eruption on our planet in the 20th century, as well as volcanoes Mount Katmai, New Trident, and Mount Mageik. The field trip is best suited for graduate and advanced undergraduate students interested in volcanology, petrology, and geohazards. Colleagues with advanced degrees often join us and contribute to the content of the course. Detailed information is available at https://www.uaf.edu/geosciences/academics/international-volcanology/index.php<https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.uaf.edu%2Fgeosciences%2Facademics%2Finternational-volcanology%2Findex.php&data=05%7C01%7Ccaplanj%40wwu.edu%7C8d662c916ac84839d3c908db25b39f5b%7Cdc46140ce26f43efb0ae00f257f478ff%7C0%7C0%7C638145226004936122%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C7000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=bwq5uc1tOT5%2FMTowSCEDezZFffMMjijRuQlNjn%2Fsru8%3D&reserved=0>
Applications are accepted on a continuous, first come – first served basis.

Please share this information with students, who may be interested in joining us.

Thank you very much,
