Dear all,
I am seeking a PhD student to join my research team at The University of Texas at El Paso on a project funded through NSF. This project focuses on development of the Eastern California Shear Zone in southeastern California, including timing constraints and styles of deformation within the evolving plate boundary. The project includes components of geologic mapping, fault kinematic analysis, U-Pb geochronology, Ar/Ar geochronology, and thermochronology. These different techniques offer ample flexibility for a student to mold a research project based on their own research interests.

The selected student will receive tuition support, and will have both RA and TA opportunities. They will work within a research team of graduate (PhD and MS), undergraduate, and community college students on this project, and will be a part of the larger Tectonics Research Group at UTEP.
