The Anchorage office of Shannon & Wilson is in relatively immediate need of an entry level geotechnical engineer/geologist. If you know of any students who are looking for work and might be interested in the opportunity to move to Alaska please pass along my contact information. The job announcement can be seen at the link below. While the job announcement does not specifically include geologists, geologists will be considered for the position.

An ideal geologist candidate will love the outdoors and field work, traveling around the state of Alaska including work in remote villages, be willing to work on geotechnical as well as environmental projects, and be mathematically inclined and have an interest in engineering.
Our current projects include, replacement of several highway bridges along the Seward Highway, a boat harbor expansion on St. George Island, and the Alaska Stand Alone Pipeline (ASAP) mostly north of Adigun Pass, just to name a few.
Thanks,
Thomas Keatts (WWU class of '09)
