[Geolalumni] Myrl Beck

Dear all,

Emeritus faculty member Myrl Beck passed away today. He was 89. Myrl established the paleomag lab at Western and had a distinguished career recognized most notably for  his contributions to the Baja BC hypothesis. He, along with Ned Brown, Scott Babcock, and Don Easterbrook (and others) were the founding core of the Geology Department.  Myrl retired a couple of years after I started in 1996 and lived a few blocks from my home. I kept in contact with him with him until his death. I will keep you informed about a potential memorial service.
