The Environmental Assessment Program<http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/eap/index.html> (EAP) is looking to fill a Hydrogeologist 2<https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/washington/jobs/4185055/hydrogeologist-2> position at the Department of Ecology's Headquarters Building in Lacey, WA<http://www.ci.lacey.wa.us/>. Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.
As a staff hydrogeologist you will support EAPs effort to establish an ambient groundwater monitoring network in the Sumas-Blaine Aquifer. The well network will be used to monitor and assess water-quantity and quality (specifically nitrate) in this vulnerable, shallow aquifer that is a principal drinking water source for the area. You will also perform directed analyses and technical services for a variety of other hydrogeologic studies. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic group of Ecology staff that are dedicated to protecting Washington's groundwater.

Program Mission: The Environmental Assessment Program provides a range of scientific, monitoring, laboratory, and quality assurance services. Its mission is to measure, assess, and communicate environmental conditions in Washington State for the purpose of providing credible science to guide environmental decisions.
Tele-work options for this position: This position will be eligible for up to 90% tele-work schedule. Schedules are dependent upon position needs and is subject to change.

Salary: $62,568.00 - $84,192.00
