The *Office of Sustainability* is proud to support the inaugural 
Washington Higher Education Sustainability Conference (WAHESC) taking 
place February 6-7th *hosted by Western Washington University*

The statewide advisory team has worked to put together an impressive two 
day 2014 WAHESC Program

which will explore ways to advance campus sustainability through the 
sharing of best practices, presentations of cutting edge examples of 
creative solutions to common challenges, and assist in developing 
regional collaborative networks.

There's just two weeks left until WAHESC kicks off at WWU --- we 
encourage all students, faculty and staff to *register to join us* and 
300+ attendees whom are making strides to further campus sustainability 
movements taking place statewide, while expanding on relationships that 
exist between social, economic and environmental systems.

Interview: PSU's Jennifer Allen Digs into Sustainability in Academics

With areas of expertise in environmental and natural resource policy and 
administration and sustainable economic development, Jennifer Allen is 
an associate professor of Public Administration and director of the 
Institute for Sustainable Solutions at Portland State University. Her 
areas of research encompass environmental and natural resource policy 
and administration and sustainable economic development, with particular 
focus on green buildings and rural-urban market connections. Check out
