Most of these internships are more ecology-based but it looks like there is one that concerns GIS that might be of interest to our undergrads.

Are you looking for real-world experience in your chosen STEM-related field this coming summer? Then consider a paid internship with the National Ecological Observatory Network(NEON)!

Interdisciplinary STEM internship projects

The NEON Undergraduate Internship Program provides qualified undergraduate students with real-world summer work experience. Since NEON is an interdisciplinary organization, we accept students from a variety of disciplines (e.g., Science, Engineering, Computing). NEON interns gain valuable professional experience working with NEON staff mentors on high-level projects— from testing gas system calibration to analyzing sensor data quality and accuracy. Visit our Internship Opportunities page<http://www.neoninc.org/learn-experience/internships/opportunities> to see the 2016 Internship Program projects.

Additionally, we provide interns with training and other opportunities to develop their communications, leadership and other professional skills that help set them up for success in their future education and career aspirations.

Internship details

Applications will be accepted Dec. 1, 2015 through Feb. 15, 2016.

The eleven-week paid program includes housing and travel to/from beautiful Boulder, Colorado.
