Dear Western faculty and staff,
Registration is still open for GEMS Academy! Consider signing up your daughter for Western"s GEMS (Girls in Engineering, Math and Science) Academy<http://www.wwu.edu/ee/youth/gems/bellingham-academy.shtml>!
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 5 and is open to students in grades 5-8.
Participants will be able to choose from the following sessions to enjoy their day:

  *   Digits & Decimals
  *   Engineering Design
  *   Brain Works
  *   Emergency Medical Technicians
  *   Chemistry Illuminated
  *   Science of the Stars
  *   Computer Science
  *   Veterinary Science
  *   Air Power & Currents
Activities will also include hearing keynote speaker Catherine Clark, the Dean of the College of Sciences and Technology,having a cafeteria lunch and earning a certificate at the end of the day.
Students are asked to bring a healthy snack, water bottle, jacket, paper, writing utensil and a curious mind!
