Dear colleagues,

The Institute for Innovative Assessment at the University of Wisconsin-Madison currently has a position opening for a Science Task Writer. The position is for a new grant that will be beginning this spring.  Information about the project and position may be found below.

The "Dynamic Interactive Formative Assessment Tasks and End-of-Unit Tests for Measuring Challenging Concepts and Skills of Diverse Middle School Students" is a four-year Department of Education funded project. The project will develop operational innovative technology-enhanced assessment tasks designed to measure unit-level science learning of middle school students using innovative formative assessment methods and novel item types. These methods have been found to be effective for all students and are particularly useful for diverse learners, including those with literacy, language and attention challenges. The item writing and research team for this grant will be working in the greater Washington DC area.
