[Geoldept] SEG Panel Event Tomorrow 11/9

Hello Geology Department,

SEG will be holding a panel event in place of our regular biweekly meeting tomorrow (Thursday, 11/9) at 4:00pm in ES 223. Pizza will be provided! Our panelists are industry professionals working in engineering, mining, and petroleum. We will have a few questions prepared, however we encourage you to bring questions of your own!

Additionally, we will be hosting the first run-through of our Community Geology Hike this Sunday (11/12) at 12:00pm at Teddy Bear Cove. The hike will commence at Arroyo Park, where free parking is available. We will then take a short hike down to the cove, discussing geology of the area along the way. Carpooling is encouraged and we suggest you dress for the weather! Please reach out to us with any questions or concerns.


Since this will be the first of our Community Geology Hikes this year, we’d love feedback, tips, & any interesting tidbits you have about leading geology field trips in the area. We look forward to more officially rolling out a series of community-centered hikes Spring quarter after a period of practice and refinement.
