Hello all,

The WWU Scholarship Center has released the application for the Non-Traditional Student Scholarship.

This scholarship is funded through the WWU tuition waiver program and will be awarded for winter and spring quarters of the year it's offered. The Non-Traditional Student Scholarship (in combination with other tuition waivers) cannot exceed the cost of tuition on a quarterly basis. This tuition waiver can only be applied to state-supported programs. It cannot be applied to Extended Education coursework, including, but not limited to, online, self-paced, TESOL, RN to BSN, recreation courses, and study-abroad, including faculty-led programs.



Scholarship Criteria

Applicants must:

 --Be a Washington State resident

--Have financial need as defined by the FAFSA or WASFA

--Have a minimum GPA of 2.5

--Be enrolled at Western as a matriculated student and attending at least half-time fall quarter

--Be an undergraduate student

--Meet one or more of the non-traditional student criteria:

Displaced Homemaker

Dislocated Worker

Delayed College Enrollment

Students with Dependents

Students with Disabilities

Foster Youth

Students who are Undocumented, DACA-eligible, and/or have HB 1079 status



Application Requirements

The required application materials include the application form, an essay, resume, and any transcripts from previous colleges and universities attended (optional). Due date for applications is Monday, December 2nd.



Please feel free to print/post the attached flyer and help us get the word out to any students who could use this funding. Scholarships will be awarded for winter and spring quarters of 2020. Let us know if you have any questions!
