Greetings geology department,
The AEG Puget Sound Chapter is requesting submissions for its annual (virtual) student poster session. This is a great opportunity for any students working on a research project to present their research! You do not have to be a member of AEG club to submit. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
"The Puget Sound Chapter of the Association of Engineering and Environmental Geologists (AEG) will hold its annual student night at our May 6 evening meeting. In the past this meeting has been in-person with bar, dinner and a poster session, however given COVID restrictions this year’s event will be virtual. We are seeking proposals for student presentations which will involve a 3-5 slide talk followed by virtual poster sessions. We strongly encourage student research topics that relate to practicing engineering and environmental geology; however proposals from all aspects of earth sciences are welcome.
AEG nationally is also committed to addressing the lack of diversity in our profession and we are seeking ideas for implementing action at our local level. Student talks that support that effort are particularly timely.
The annual student night is an excellent opportunity to showcase your work to a network of local practicing geoscientists, who have a strong interest in research work and who also recruit heavily among local university programs. AEG is an organization that provides mutual support for geoscientists at all stages of their careers.
Please submit your title and one paragraph proposal to secretary at aegpugetsound.org<mailto:secretary at aegpugetsound.org> by April 9."
