If you are considering applying for our GIS minor, applications for Spring 2022 are due on Feb 1st. Admission to the GIS minor will get you priority registration for ENVS 418 in the spring. In addition to priority registration, admission to this program means that you will have a GIS faculty advisor to help you navigate planning your class schedule and applying for internships and jobs, so please don't delay applying if you've decided you want to pursue a GIS degree.
Details of the application process can be viewed here: https://huxley.wwu.edu/sal/application
If you are seriously considering a career involving GIS, you should apply for our GIS Certificate<https://catalog.wwu.edu/preview_program.php?catoid=18&poid=8712&returnto=4807> Certificate<https://catalog.wwu.edu/preview_program.php?catoid=18&poid=8712&returnto=4807> program too. Applications for the GIS Certificate will be due in May and you can use the same classes to meet the minor and certificate requirements. If you really, really love GIS, then you should also consider joining our new major in Environmental Studies with a GIS Emphasis<https://catalog.wwu.edu/preview_program.php?catoid=18&poid=8924&returnto=4807>!
