WWU Geology Dept,

We are happy to let you know that The North Seattle Lapidary & Mineral Club has funded a $2,500 scholarship this year.

The deadline for submitting the completed applications is April 21, 2023.

The following are the eligibility requirements:
• Declared Geology Major
• Minimum Sophomore status with at least two quarters left after the receipt of the award
• 3.0 GPA or better
• Financial need

Applicants will need to provide the following items:
• Application form (attached)
• Resume/CV
• Explanation of financial need
• Academic history (unofficial)
• Essay in support of application (no more than two pages)
• Two letters of recommendation from Geology faculty


The recipient must give a presentation on some aspect of geology or lapidary to the NSL&MC at one of their club meetings, held the second Tuesday of each month. This
presentation can be given virtually or recorded.
